“The 12.6 inch snowfall on February 9 marks the city’s biggest official calendar day snowfall since 18.6 inches fell on January 2, 1999. This is also the most snowfall ever recorded in a calendar day in February in Chicago breaking the old record of 11.5 inches on February 18, 1908. Midway picked up 8.8 inches for the day making this the 4th greatest February calendar day snowfall on record there.”
